Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We’ve got answers
What exactly is an original Pup Culture Dog-U-Mentary?
It’s a custom video where your pet takes center stage as an articulate, opinionated storyteller. Using advanced post production technology, lip-syncing, professional voiceover, and sound design, we transform standard photos and videos of your pet into cinematic mockumentaries, heartfelt tributes, comedic roasts, or custom video greeting cards.
How does the process work?
- Meet with the Team: Book a development session with our Pup Culture Creative Team, and together we develop a concept for your original Talking Pet video.
- Submit photos and details: Upload 3 to 4 clear photos of your pet (front facing and profile shots) and fill out our quick questionnaire about their personality, favorite quirks, nemesis (the mail carrier, the vacuum), and the occasion.
- Review the script: For custom tiers, you will approve the comedic script and voice direction before animation begins.
- Final delivery: Receive a high-resolution, shareable video file ready to download, text, or post.
Can other pets participate, or is it strictly dogs?
Cats, birds, bunnies, reptiles, and horses are all welcome. While our name nods to man’s best friend, our production pipeline works across any pet with a clearly visible face.
How can I check the status of my order?
- Clear, well-lit, eye-level photos taken in natural daylight.
- The pet facing forward or at a slight three-quarter angle with their mouth relaxed (closed or slightly open, not panting heavily with an obscured snout or tongue hanging out). Profile shots are helpful as well.
- High resolution directly from a smartphone or digital camera (avoid screenshots or heavily compressed social media downloads).
Can I include video clips or human family members?
Yes. In our multi-scene packages, we can weave in short phone videos of your pet in action (running, sleeping in strange positions, begging) or insert b-roll photos of family members, homes, and favorite toys to serve as comedic visual aids during the story.
Who writes the script?
With your input, we craft custom scripts from scratch based on the personality notes, nicknames, and running family jokes you provide during our development session. If you already have an exact script or specific lines you want included word-for-word, simply provide them when we meet.
How long does shipping usually take?
We match your pet’s physical presence and attitude with a tailored voiceover style—whether that is a refined British narrator, a deadpan indie documentary subject, a fast-talking sports commentator, or a goofy best friend. If you have a specific accent, age, or tone in mind, let us know in the intake form.
Can I use my own voice recording?
Yes. If you prefer to supply the voice track yourself, you can upload a clean audio recording, and we will sync the mouth animation directly to your performance.
How long does production take?
- Off the Shelf Video Greeting Cards: These cards are available as instant digital deliveries, like greeting cards from a store but more fun!
- Customized Video Greeting Cards: You pick one of our existing templates, and we add your pet as the new star of the show! These custom videos are typically ready 3 to 5 business days from the date of photo submission and questionnaire completion.
- Original Videos. Our original videos are a concierge creative experience, so we prepare a bid and timeline specific to the scope of your vision!
How will I receive the final video?
You will receive a link to a secure private gallery where you can stream, share, and download full-resolution MP4 files
What is your revision policy?
Custom packages include one round of fine-tuning revisions on pacing, audio balance, or minor script tweaks. Because full lip-sync animation is rendered based on approved scripts, major script rewrites requested after production begins may incur an additional animation fee. Additional rounds of revisions can also be purchased for a fee.
